  • Kora and Riiti players Toubab Diallo, Senegal

Featuring Djaliba Pape Sakho, Kora player and Djibril Bra, Riiti player

In Senegal in January of 2012, after teaching art with children in a neighborhood school around Dakar, I was fortunate to travel to Toubab Diallo where I met Kora player, Djaliba “Pape” Sakho, and Riiti player Djibril Bra. This video provides a mere glimpse of the performances and educational conversations they shared. I owe many thanks to Pape and Djibril for their generosity with their talents and knowledge. Appreciation also goes to Tony Vacca and Massamba Diop for translation, interpretation and serving as cultural hosts.
